Hi there Van Mozar – a friend of mind has just sent me over your link – I sit here open-mouthed as to what I’ve just read !! – Well done for sticking to your guns – proud of you – I’m just about to enter the publishing arena myself and it’s good to know what maybe ahead – I’ve spent 4 years pouring my heart on screen – damn WHsmith if they think they’e gonna put a spanner in my works!! Up until now I’ve not heard of you – but rest assured I shall find your book and buy it – Well done !!!

Quick plug – just tweaking my novel (Always on a Sunday – Grace Perry) – it’s a self-publishing effort so look out for it sometime in the New Year

I was just listening to the Sherri Dixon Show and your interview (3.1.10). I am in the process of writing a book and looking into publishers and was also thinking of self publishing. What you have done so far is very inspiring, I love to hear of people taking their lives into their own hands instead of waiting on others. This stuff is character building, keep strong and I will take your advice on finding a mentor in books. Thank you.

I would like to say that this is great not only for black authors but for authors in general as it show that you need to be out there and getting noticed not sat there waiting for things to happen the truth is unless your a start or famous footballer its very very very hard to get singed up to a publishing deal so keep up the good work and well done on your achievements stay proud and for all those that haven’t not yet check out our books

I have a friend who has highly recommended his book. I was doing some research on the author and came across this. I find it highly offensive that someone would state “that black people don’t read books”. I am glad that he has gotten out there on his own and doing the right thing.

I am very proud of you Van Mozar you are a great inspiration to me, I dont thnk that you actually realise how much.

Seeing you over the past two decades and knowing you indirectly growing up round town, to know what you have turned into as a young black man is heart warming.

Keep up with the good work, you never know we might meet one of these days as I am also trying to break into this field as a young black woman from around the way.

Von Mozar has done well. Its very challenging for young black authors to get signed up. I suggest black authors use lulu.com and self-promote. Success no longer depends on a publishing deal.
