FourDocs – Editorial/Editing Assistant

FourDocs is a looking for an Editorial/Editing Assistant to assist in the running
of Channel 4’s broadband channel for documentary. This is an exciting opportunity
to contribute technically and creatively to a growing community of documentary
filmmakers, using the possibilities of online film to grab the attention of
broadcasters.

The Editorial/Editing Assistant will assist the Editor of FourDocs in the
day-to-day administrative and technical running of the FourDocs site, as well as
help to develop the editorial content of the site, continue the growth of the
FourDocs online community, and build awareness online and offline.

The candidate must:

  • Have some practical skills in video editing, ideally in Final Cut Pro. Be able to demonstrate competence in basic editing, DVD creation, and moving image manipulation, as well as a willingness and ability to learn more editing skills quickly.
  • Have a strong interest in, and passion for, documentary filmmaking and watching.
  • Be able to demonstrate good creative writing and text editing skills.
  • Be competent in Word and Excel.
  • Be equally at home with ‘creative’ and ‘technical’ projects.
  • Show an awareness of, and interest in, the FourDocs channel – http://www.channel4.com/fourdocs.
