Courtyard Arts call for gallery applications

Courtyard Arts Hertford is now seeking applications from emerging and established local and national artists to exhibit in our stunning gallery for 2008 -2009.

Submissions

Please write in with a proposal (CV, a brief description of exhibition and colour images) to the Gallery co-ordinator, Courtyard Arts, Port Vale, Hertford, SG14 3AA. Please include a stamped addressed envelope if you wish your materials to be returned.

Rental and Commission

Exhibitions are for a minimum of two weeks. Rental for gallery space is £110.00 per week. The gallery can be hired for a four week period for a reduced rate of £330.00.

Emerging Artists

The Courtyard also aims to encourage exhibitions from emerging artists at reduced rates, please contact the Gallery for details.

Commission

Courtyard Arts Centre takes a 25% commission on all sales. A balance of sales payment is made to exhibitors within 21 days of the exhibitions closure

Black History Month Mix and Match Event

Do you want to find out more about or take part in Black History Month within Kensington and Chelsea? Do you have an idea for a project but nowhere to run it? Are you an organisation/individual with plenty of space but no one to run your project?

If so please come to the Black History Month Project Market!

This event is being held prior to Kensington and Chelsea’s next Arts Grants deadline in May to give everyone the chance to make a “match” at the event and have time to develop the project and make an application to the Arts Grants scheme.

Funding and marketing information will also be available and Arts Officers will be on hand to offer advice on funding applications, marketing deadlines and any other project issues.

The event will also feature short talks from Lorraine Gilbert, Chair of Race Equality Partnership Kensington and Chelsea and Janet Browne from Victoria and Albert Museum on the ‘Uncomfortable Truths’ exhibition.

FourDocs – Editorial/Editing Assistant

FourDocs is a looking for an Editorial/Editing Assistant to assist in the running
of Channel 4’s broadband channel for documentary. This is an exciting opportunity
to contribute technically and creatively to a growing community of documentary
filmmakers, using the possibilities of online film to grab the attention of
broadcasters.

The Editorial/Editing Assistant will assist the Editor of FourDocs in the
day-to-day administrative and technical running of the FourDocs site, as well as
help to develop the editorial content of the site, continue the growth of the
FourDocs online community, and build awareness online and offline.
