The jury in the trial of Gary Dobson and David Norris for the murder of Stephen Lawrence in 1993 at a bus stop in Eltham, south London has found both defendants Guilty of murder.

In a verdict given after three days of deliberation by the jury and deliverd at lunchtime today, the seven week trial comes to an end but the case remains open. The verdicts come as a relief to much of the black community in the UK who have long felt that the two convicted murders, are part of a larger group of white youths who attacked Lawrence and his friend Duwayne Brooks on the evening of April 22nd 1993.
